For the first edition of my series on the Magick Folk of East Anglia I have decided to begin in familiar territory…Fairy Land, or rather those who abide there, ‘The Fae’. (For a detailed look into the Fae of Norfolk please see my “Missing Fairies of Norfolk” series). In particular, the relationship (if any) between the Fae and the East Anglian Witches of Old.

But before I begin, what do I mean by ‘The Fae’ and ‘the Witches of Old’?

Loosely defined ‘The Fae’ are supernatural beings with magical abilities, closely aligned with nature. It could be said that they inhabit planet Earth but in which realm /layer of reality is up for debate. Hither and dither perhaps.
